LOCAL MOTHER HELPS 5-YEAR-OLD SON WRITE STORY ABOUT HIS TRIP TO THE WHITE HOUSE
“The road to the White House was far away and EJ was ready to get there. He knew the White House had the United States flag on it and that the president lived there with his family, but he did not know what was on the inside. Did the White House have a kitchen and living room like EJ’s house?”
Set in Selma, Alabama, at the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge, “EJ’s Exciting Road Trip” is a modern day story of a little boy’s dream to visit the White House. On the road trip, EJ’s mom decided that she would take EJ to Selma, Alabama to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday. When EJ realized that it was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who led the march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, he wanted to learn more about Black history.
Suze Guillaume’s debut children’s story takes children and their parents on the adventure of a lifetime. Children will have the opportunity to use their imaginations and explore important landmarks in American history.
EJ's Exciting Road Trip is based on a true story!
